Vinyl Pressing

Pressing Vinyl

At The Dub Crate, we partner with a trusted network of top-tier cutting engineers, galvanic facilities, printers, and pressing plants to deliver high-quality vinyl pressing option. With over a decade of experience in the vinyl industry, we understand every stage of the process and are here to help bring your music project to life — from the initial cut to the final press.

How Does It Work?

The vinyl pressing process begins with your music. Once you send us your final tracks, we’ll assess the audio and advise on any necessary adjustments to ensure it is optmizes for the cutting and mastering stage.

When masters have been approved, a skilled cutting engineer cuts your music onto a 14" lacquer. This lacquer is then sent to a galvanic plant, where it undergoes electroplating to create a metal master (also known as a “Mother”). From this, a series of stampers are produced — the moulds used in the pressing machines.

These stampers are then delivered to the pressing plant. A few weeks later you will receive a test pressing to check that you're happy with the sound of the record. Once approved, your records will be pressed onto vinyl in your chosen size, colour, weight, and label design. After pressing and a resting period (to ensure flatness), the records are sleeved, packed, and prepared for delivery.

Throughout the process, we coordinate closely with every facility to ensure quality results and smooth turnaround times whilst adding transparecy for you as the customer along the way.

How Long Does It Take?

Turnaround times can vary depending on demand and plant schedules, but as a general guide:
